How this is worked out

  1. Time = the greater of hours on site and the minimum charge, × the hourly rate × any after-hours multiplier.
  2. Add the call-out fee and materials (no multiplier on those).
  3. Add 10% GST if the quote is ex GST.

Frequently asked questions

What is a minimum charge?

Some providers bill a minimum number of hours even when the job is quicker. The calculator uses whichever is greater, the hours on site or the minimum, so you can see how it affects the total.

What does the after-hours loading do?

It multiplies the time charge only, as many quotes do for evenings, weekends or public holidays. The call-out fee and materials are not multiplied.

Should materials be included in the hourly rate?

Usually they are listed separately. Enter the materials figure from your quote and the calculator adds it after the time and call-out.

Does the quote include GST?

Tick the ex GST option if the quote says prices exclude GST, and the calculator adds 10%. If the quote already includes GST, leave it off.
